What a session covers
Each session is one hour by phone or video call, focused entirely on your matter. A session might cover:
Your next legal steps,
Understanding your options and likely pathways,
Planning your negotiation approach,
What to avoid, preparing for mediation or settlement discussions,
Step-by-step guidance through forms and court processes, or
Reality-checking proposals before you agree to anything.
The goal of every session is the same — to make sure you know your rights, understand your options, and can make confident decisions on your own behalf.
More Information
Your matter
Not everyone wants to “get lawyers involved” when a relationship ends — and that fear is completely understandable.
But there’s a difference between getting lawyers involved and getting informed. Legal Coaching exists in that space. Think of it the way you’d think of seeing a therapist — private support that belongs entirely to you, that you are under no obligation to disclose to anyone. I don’t appear on your behalf, I don’t write to the other party, and I don’t go on record. I simply make sure that the decisions you make are informed ones.
You are allowed to seek legal advice quietly. Because this is an advisory service rather than formal representation, your support stays completely private.
Who this is for?
- Anyone separating or already separated, and have decided to keep lawyers out of it.
- Anybody self-represented in parenting, property, or financial negotiations and would like to have a legal support on hand.
- When you are confident in handling your own separation, but want steady guidance as things unfold
- Separating families who are supporting a child with autism or additional needs, and need someone who understands both the legal and the lived reality
- Drafting a workable parenting plan that includes the management of NDIS plans for the chid.
What this is not
To keep this service clear, focused, and within scope, I don’t draft documents under this service, correspond with the other party or the Court, or go on record as your solicitor. If you need any of those things, they’re available as separate services and you’re never locked into one path.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this confidential?
Yes, completely. Everything you share with me is protected by legal professional privilege — the same protection that applies to any lawyer-client relationship. Nothing leaves our sessions.
Do I have to tell the other party I’m getting legal advice?
No. Because this is legal advice rather than formal representation, you are under no obligation to disclose it to anyone. Your support is private, and it stays that way.
Is this real legal advice, or just general information?
This is real, qualified legal advice specific to your situation — not general information you could find on Google. I am a practising lawyer and everything I tell you is informed by the facts of your matter.
What’s the difference between Legal Coaching and hiring you as my lawyer?
With Legal Coaching, you remain self-represented — I don’t appear on your behalf, draft your documents, or correspond with the other party. Think of it as having a lawyer in your corner privately, advising you on what to do and say, while you remain in control of the process.
What if my situation gets more complicated and I need more support?
That’s completely fine. If at any point you feel you need full representation, or you’d like me to review documents before you sign them, both are available as separate services. You’re never locked into one path.
How do I know if one session will be enough?
Honestly — it depends on your matter. Many people find that one focused session gives them enough clarity to move forward confidently. Others come back as things evolve. There’s no pressure either way, and sessions never expire if you buy a block.
Can I use this if I’m already in Court proceedings?
Yes. Legal Coaching can be particularly valuable if you’re self-represented in Court — helping you understand the process, prepare for hearings, and avoid procedural mistakes that are difficult to undo.
What if I have an autistic child or a child receiving NDIS funding?
This is an area I work in specifically. Sessions can cover parenting arrangements that account for your child’s needs, NDIS considerations in parenting plans, and how to advocate effectively for your child within a legal framework.
